Saturday in Ripon

We had some free time after breakfast before going to Grandma Fredrik's 90th birthday party at Mike's Uncle Jim and Aunt Lynda's, so we did a few things. We stopped by the cemetery to see Mike's other grandma's gravesite (Grandma Anne Hekman--for whom Jenelle's middle name was chosen). Then, we stopped by and visited with Uncle Les and the 2 cows, 2 goats, a goose, and chickens. Jenelle thought it was a zoo. We explained that it was a farm. Then Mike stopped by Starbucks for me to get a frappaccino. Thank you, Mike. Then we went back to the hotel and "swam". Neither of the kids wanted to get IN the water, but it felt good. Finally we went to Burger King for lunch and then went back to the hotel for a late nap. I had to wake up the three of them to get ready for Grandma's party, but we had a good time there, too. Since all of Mike's siblings and families were there, we got to take a group family picture. Got to take advantage of those times. Got to visit with lots of family. They had a jumper for the kids shaped like a birthday cake. Jenelle loved it. Clayton enjoyed petting the dog and playing in the ice buckets. He transferred cups of ice from one bucket to the other. It was a fun day.

Mike wanted to show the kids what an almond orchard was. Clay loved the sprinklers.

Mark, Mike, Jenelle and Dan--fun to be with family

Sounds like a busy but fun time! When I read, "Clayton loves his Uncle Dan," I thought, how cute! Then I looked at the picture. We have a few of those around. :)

thanks, heather, for posting the picture of me and Clay. It's sad, but true.
