Fourth of July

We wanted to take the kids to "The Red Park" this morning--so named because the slides are red. We left the house at 7:45 to get there as early as we could to avoid the intense heat. We had a nice time. It was nice to be there as a family.

This picture looks like the kids are sitting still, but they were both going high and happened to be at this point when the camera clicked.

Mike was giving Clayton minimal help (more moral support) as he climbed up the slide.

I am going to a college friends' get together while Mike stays home with the kids for their naps. I am taking some patriotic sand cookies with a Noah's Ark stamped into them. (Jessica gave us the stamp when they got back from Colorado yesterday.)

Later on today, we are going to the house of some members of our Sunday School class. They say we'll be able to see the fireworks well from their front lawn. We are taking these cherry/blueberry (patriotic) cookie squares to that party. Yummy food.
