Our Family Date Night

We like to go on family dates. Usually we just go to Burger King, but Saturday night was different. First we went to The Home Depot so Mike could get two pieces of wood to test his stain on for his project.

I thought this picture of Clay was very fun to tell how little he is (even though he wasn't supposed to be in there.)
After we went to dinner at Wendy's, Mike thought it would be fun for us to all go to PetCo. It was a great idea! The kids LOVED looking at the fish, the birds, the turtles and the frogs. Of course, they really enjoyed the ladder the could climb to look at the fish and it was so fun to see "Nemo" (clown) fish.

Have I mentioned that Jenelle is dressing herself a lot these days? Technically, she does match. We just have to work on non-conflicting patterns.:) Actually, she is doing great and some days is even dressed before I am up! We are proud of her.

Notice how Clay is reaching as high as he can on the very top step!
I had never seen a chinchilla before. At first they kind of freaked me out because they looked like over grown something, mice maybe. After looking at them for awhile and learning about them, I decided I like them. They are endangered because of their very soft fur (that some people like to make into coats). I got to feel one and it was so soft, it almost felt like air. They like to climb since their original habitat is the Andes mountains. They prefer cages with 2 or more stories. Aren't they cute?
The kids thought these little carts were great--just their size, but no, we couldn't take them home.:)

The snake video
Mike made sure to tell Jenelle that if she ever sees snakes at home to run to Mommy as fast as she can to tell me. I told her, "If Daddy's home, we tell him first." They give me the willies!

Anyway, we had a very nice time out as a family. I love that!

I'm with you on the snakes, they totally creep me out too! I think there is a reason Satan took the form of a snake in the Garden of Eden... they are one of the creepiest creatures around.

Glad you guys had such a nice family night :)
