The Weekend

On Friday, I worked up the strength to take the kids to Target. Then we met my parents at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Then, thanks to Jenelle's suggestion, we headed over to Chick-fil-A to let the kids play while we chatted a bit. That was fun to have the time to hang out. I love being able to hang out with my parents.

Friday night, we had our family date at Burger King. It was pretty uneventful (which makes us want to do it again).

On Saturday, Mike did the final sanding and staining on the front part of our entertainment center that he is building. It looks very rich in the mahogany stain. He plans to put the hinges on it and get it up so we can start enjoying our TV that we have had since May.:)

On Saturday afternoon, it was such beautiful weather, that we went to the park (again, thanks to Jenelle's suggestion--it's like she just wants to have fun and play.) It was nice to be there as a whole family. We had fun people watching, too.

On Sunday morning, we went to church. Clayton cried again when we dropped him off. Last week, he didn't so we were hoping that was his new trend, but I guess not. Our Sunday School class got together with 3 or 4 others to listen to two guys in their young twenties who used this past summer to Kayak down the Mississippi (that's a fun word) to raise awareness and support for International Justice Mission--a legal group who helps children get out of sexual slavery. Very neat how God is working in their lives.

After watching NASCAR, Mike did a bit more on the entertainment center and then loaned our Dinosaur DVD to our neighbors so they can learn about creation and dinosaurs according to God.:) Then we went to church and it was stay with your child at AWANA night. It was fun. We got to watch Jenelle interact (she said all four of her verses and got her vest, shirt, and book--yeah Jenelle!). We also had fun visiting with the other parents. A good day.

What is the dinosaur DVD?

It's by Ken Ham. He has a whole series and he is founder of "Answers in Genesis".

I am not getting my hopes up about the TV, but I will enjoy it when it is up.:)
